Why would someone use My Vegas for social networking when they already use Facebook or MySpace? Because you can be whoever you want with My Vegas. My team at Critical Mass suggested that the Las Vegas Convention and Visitor’s Authority build themselves a socially enabled hub in order to promote tourism to Vegas. After signing up, users can customize their page with chic Vegas themes. They can generate a personalized Vegas name by answering a few hilarious questions. They can upload Vegas photos, save their favorite Vegas hotels, plan Vegas trips and invite their friends along for the ride. As for the art direction, I really wanted to convey the subtle mysterious feel associated with Vegas nightlife. An overall dark palette with bright, lighted elements helped to achieve that.
