Using only black pixels, this experiment was going to be the 2nd iteration of Carlsville.com. The running theme since I purchased this URL has been to play on the town or city idea (except for the current version obviously). The town version is perhaps my most favorite. At the time I was really influenced by eBoy. I just love what they do with pixels and that they make a living at it. However I was more interested in what I could do with just plain black pixels and no color whatsoever. I also wanted to represent buildings and places I love (NYC, Calgary, Frank Lloyd Wright, Le Corbusier, Rietveld, etc). There’s people running around, driving, and there’s even Chinatown and Thaitown. The idea was that if I had a black and white town, my portfolio pieces would provide the color. Each building was to contain a portfolio piece.
